Five U.S. Teams Head to Two International Competitions This Week

(2/6/19) – Five teams will represent the United States in two international synchronized skating competitions this week. In Zagreb, Croatia, 2019 Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy is set for Feb. 8-9, while 2019 Trophy D’Ecosse will take place from Feb. 8-10 in Dumfries, Great Britain.

At Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy, the
Skyliners will make their second appearance of the season after finishing sixth in the senior competition at Mozart Cup last month. In 2017, the team won the title at Zagreb Snowflakes. Miami University will also take the ice for the second time this season. The 2018 U.S. bronze medalists finished fifth at Leon Lurje Trophy in January and will be making their first ever appearance at this event.

In the junior division in Zagreb, two U.S. teams will look for a spot on the podium. Fresh off a silver-medal performance at Leon Lurje Trophy, the
Starlights will perform for the second time this season. In 2017, the reigning U.S. junior bronze medalists captured the title at this event. Making their first international appearance of the season, the Fond du Lac Blades will also represent Team USA in Croatia. In just their third international season, the team will be making their first appearance at this event.

The
Crystallettes are the sole U.S. team attending Trophy D’Ecosse in the senior division. They will make their international season debut in Dumfries, Great Britain.
