U.S. Collects Seven Total Medals at Triglav Trophy

(4/18/04) — The U.S. added three more medals Sunday at the 2004 Triglav Trophy in Jesenice, Slovenia. That brought the Team USA total to seven overall for the final ISU event of the season. Douglas Razzano moved up from second after the short program to win gold in Sunday's junior men's event. His marks ranged as high as 5.2. Teammate Stephen Carriere finished fourth in the free skate to place fourth overall (he was seventh after the short).

Team USA won two medals in pairs, including a gold from Mariel Miller and Rockne Brubaker. Miller and Brubaker collected all first-place ordinals in both the short program and free skate. Lindsey Seitz and Andy Seitz won the bronze.

U.S. skaters won four medals Friday to make the final total seven.

In junior ladies, 2004 U.S. novice silver medalist Danielle Shepard made a huge leap to win the gold medal after finishing fifth in the short program. Her marks ranged from 4.7-5.2.

In novice men, reigning U.S. novice silver medalist Daisuke Murakami won the free skate to vault over short program leader Jeremy Ten of Canada and win the gold medal.

The U.S. won two medals in the novice ladies division. Cara Kinney won the silver medal after finishing second in the free skate. Short program leader Megan Oster, the reigning U.S. novice bronze medalist, finished third. Canada's Amanda Valentine won the free skate and the gold medal.
